Northridge Inn & Resort has over 1350 feet of shore line on Lake Bernard. Lake Bernard is a distinctive lake with an unusual claim to fame. The lake has been deemed the "world's largest fresh water lake without an island by Guinness World Records". Measuring approximately 7 km in length and 2.5 km in width, Lake Bernard is large in comparison to the majority of Ontario's thousands of lakes. The fact that there are no islands on Lake Bernard is what sets it apart from other large Ontario lakes. Another interesting characteristic of this lake is that it is not connected to any other lake. This is quite unusual for a lake of its size, especially when you consider the many Muskoka lakes to the south that interconnect. Some suggest that Lake Bernard is the result of an ancient meteor strike. One thing is for certain, Lake Bernard's reputation with area residents and North Muskoka visitors alike as a beautiful lake with crystal clear water and good fishing, far out weighs its status as a Guinness World Record holder.
