Our Destination

Even today, the
Almaguin Highlands, North Muskoka landscape continues to have an
untouched feeling. Recognized as a
special communal hunting and fishing ground, native peoples that included the Huron, Ojibway and Algonquins, cooperated to lead early explorers around this treasured area to protect it. As stewards of a small portion of this Canadian landscape, the Northridge Inn continues to respect this legacy.
In a place where time slows down and priorities shift from the urgent to the profound, you are invited to sit at the
water's edge and let the gentle whisper of the wind and the lapping of the waves bear testament to a
simpler story of days gone by.
And although you are amidst some of the most beautiful of Canadian landscapes, vestiges of those times remain for your exploration. There is a covered footbridge ~ a heritage river walk and a drive through centuries old stands of giant virgin pines ~ historical cemeteries with metal headstones and award winning maple syrup with a history reaching back to the pioneers. There are hand hewn log homesteads, and The Forgotten Trails ~ Saturday morning markets and warblers, orioles, kestrels and buntings and even bald eagles. Even dog sledding remains alive and well here and awaits your experience. With a little help from serendipity, you may just stumble upon The Anglican Church of St. George as depicted by The Group of Seven.
Whitewater raft on the Magnetawan ~ explore the endless ski and snowmobile trails ~ pull a lake trout from spring fed Lake Bernard ~ you'll revel in the understanding that the experience of The Northridge Inn is grounded in a sense of place that extends far beyond its physical boundaries and time.
